Well I have already had a couple meets, but It's never too late to tell you all what I've done.
Our first meet was AF/LP/PG or American Fork against Lone Peak and Pleasant Grove. At that meet I swam the 100 Fly, the 100 Back, and the 200 and 400 freestyle relays. Now this is my first meet so you better believe I was pumped and ready to go! I had never swam the 100 Fly before, but I was determined to give it my all. For those of you who are not familiar with the order of events, it goes as follows: 200 Medley Relay, 200 Freestyle, 200 Individual Medley, 50 Freestyle, 100 Fly, 100 Freestyle, 500 Freestyle, 200 Freestyle Relay, 100 Backstroke, 100 Breaststroke, and finishes with the 400 Freestyle Relay. I had a lot of rest before my events started, so the tension just kept building up! I got ready to go and dove in! I produced an amazing time of 1:04, which is incredible for the first time swimming it. I couldn't get cocky though, I had to keep my cool. After waiting half an hour for the 500s to get done, I met up with my relay team for the 200 free relay and I was anchoring the team. We were the B team, but we put up an impressive score, Including my split of 26 seconds! I quickly got ready for the 100 back, which I had swam many times last year. I swam it this time in 1:09. But the best has been saved for last, which is the 400 freestyle relay! I have never had the pleasure of being on this elite relay! I was on the B team, which is one step closer to the A team, and once again I was anchoring the relay! I swam my split in an unbelievable 59 seconds! This is an important milestone in every swimmer's life. To bust through the 1 minute barrier is such a great feeling! I even think I scared my coach with my victory yell. It was an amazing first meet!
